the arc project
the business outsource service with the social conscience
Women’s Wisdom is proud
to present ARC, an innovative community payback initiative supporting female offenders.
The Administration Resource Centre (ARC) located at 33 Queens Terrace in Southampton
is the latest ground-breaking project from Women’s Wisdom. The pilot project which
launched in February 2011 provides administration support and meeting space for
local community groups, social enterprises and local start-up businesses. Its unique
feature is that the services are provided by female offenders on community payback
as a creative solution to the challenge of reducing female offending. What better
way to increase rehabilitation than through an effective and relevant Community
Payback initiative, addressing the reasons behind offending and providing real time

reoffending as well as having beneficial effects on mental health.
ARC for the individual; A unique and fresh approach!!
ARC – a very real opportunity for women to learn invaluable and transferrable skills,
increasing in confidence, whilst working with the community in a positive way through
Community Payback and overcoming the communities perception of offenders.
Whether the women are working as part of a team or individually they are continually
improving their communication and customer service skills as well as working with
Microsoft Office.
The women are enabled and encouraged with essential skills training to improve numeracy,
literacy and IT skills as well as other industry led qualifications.
This is proving to be the best way to ensure that the women are given the optimum
chance of rehabilitation and enabling their progression into/back into the workplace.
